LA Calendar Motorcycle Show page 2
An exciting
on stage attraction at the 2004 Show which drew big audiences
(above) both days were the Purrfect Anglez
headed by director Lisa Langdon (the brunette
in the middle, below). The 5 girl troupe did three 30-minute
performances each day with included dance and burlesque routines,
fire twirling, stand up and sexy comedy routines with guests
from the audience including famed bike builders Jesse
Rooke and Russell Mitchell, and
Show producer Jim Gianatsis.
Above:
Russ Mitchell can't believe what he's seeings as the Angelz
get up close and personal with him in front of 3,000 people.
Below: Russell felt a litle less shy when he gave his Iron
& Lace Seminar to discuss his bike building techniques
and style at Exile Cycles.
Another
new, exciting and successful attraction at the 2004 Show were
the Iron & Lace Calendar Bike Bilder Seminars
where some of America's top builders who have bikes featured
in the Iron & Lace Custom Bike Pinup Calendar were there
to discuss their bike building style and techniques to appreciative
enthusiasts. The semminars were held in an infield pavillion
and featured different builders nearly every hour, both days.
Featured builders included Russell Mitchell
(above) of Exile Cycles with his clean and basic style, plus
Paul Yaffe, Jesse Rooke,
Harold Pontarelli and Cyril Huze
who came all the way from Florida.
Above:
Paul Yaffe concluded his Iron & Lace Calendar Builders
Seminar on Sunday by firing up his $120,000 Discovery Channel
Bikers Build Off machine and letting it throw flames to the
crowd's amazement. This "red hot" bike was featured
in all the print advertising for our 2004 Show and appears
in the 2005
Iron & Lace Calendar with beautiful model Chandi
Mason.
Another
new feature at this year's Show was the Saturday Builder's
Night Party aboard the Queen Mary in its beautiful art deco
Observation Room Bar. Admission to the Party and the Queen
Mary historic ocean liner and its museum was free all weekend
to all Bike Show spectators. Normally the Queen Mary itself
is a separate $12 charge to visitors. The party proved to
be a perfect opportunity for the Builders, Show Exhibitors,
the Calendar Bike Show staff and FastDates.com Calendar Angels,
and the purrfect Angelz to unwind and get to know everyone
better after a long day in the Queen Mary Event Park. Performing
live at the party was the beautiful 3 sisters pop country
rock band Elle3.
