EBSCO Corona Extra Suzuki Suzuki GSXR750

with team manager Landers Sevier

FastDates.com proud to be a sponsor of one of the winningest teams in AMA National Championship roadracing, the EBSCO Corona Extra Suzuki team owned and managed by Landers Sevier, a motorcycle roadracing enthusiast and sales manager for EBSCO Media, a major national printing company located in Montgomery, Alabama. Lander's EBSCO sponsored Suzuki support team dominated the AMA SuperSport and Formula Extreame classes back in the mid 1990's and were pretty much unbeatable with numerous wins and National Championships to his credit. Lander's stepped out of race team ownership for a few years in 1998 to persue other interests, but in late 2000 Landers returned to roadracing tam ownership with the new EBSCO Corona Extra Suzuki factory support team, and with a new unknown Southern racer named Jimmy Moore. Together they and their FastDates.com sponsored team would go on to win the AMA 750 Supersport Championship in both 2001 and 2002 with the invincible Suzuki GSXR750.

ENGINE MODIFICATIONS
"All engines Jimmy won races on were built by one of our Supersport motor builders, Mike Fargnoli, explains Landers. We are sponsored by Giannelli racing exhausts and all the systems we use on our bikes are right off the shelf. We use the Yoshimura EMS units for programming the Fuel Injection. That's pretty much it for the engines"

The only internal engine modifications allowed in AMA Supersport is careful reworking and blending of the valve seats in the heads for maxium flow. The 750cc SuperSport class is pretty much a level playing field between Suzuki factory supported privateer teams. No one gets to spend any time in the parts warehouse at American Suzuki, carefully measuring and selecting production parts like heads and cylinders that are at the far end of approved production tollerances for a slight advantage in increased compression or reduced friction. The same certainly doesn't hold true for the even more competive 600cc SuperSport class were all the major manufacturers are involved in a battle for supremacy with their top factory riders.

"We use only USE Maxima lubricants in our bikes," explains Landers. "No other other oil companies can give us the engine protection or performance gains that we get with Maxima racing oils. The other oil guys all claim to be the best - but after winning all our championships and hundreds of races with zero oil related engine problems - we will continue to rely on Maxima exclusively.

"For racing fuel which we have to foot the bill for, Nutec Special 5 is our fuel of choice."

BRAKE MODIFICATIONS
"Though we prefered to use the Braking Wave Rotors in 2001 due to their light weight, we had to use the Suzuki Origional Equipment rotors, again in 2002, due to the rules and regulations of the class. Our choice of brake pad was Brakings CM 66, and CM 55. Nothing gave Jimmy the braking power or confidence as the Braking pads....and we tried type brake pad available. The rear brake rotor was lightened by Bill McCue at TCM products (formerly WRM)."

DUNLOP TIRES
"Dunlop 208's and 209's were used throughout the season. Pressures varied from track to track but mostly were in the range of 30psi front and 30psi rear."

HANDLING
"All suspension tuning was done by Jim Lindemann of Lindemann Engineering. Jim has worked with us for years and has been instrumental to our winning three National Championships as well as several endurance titles. Stock forks as required by rules with Lindemann internal mod's. We use Ohlins rear which are shocks also tuned by Lindemann. Jimmy's specific chassis spec's and set up data from track to track is proprietary to the team"

OTHER GOODIES
The main stays we used (the guage and upper cowl support) were manufactured by GP Tech. Reasonably priced, durable and very light. They also have replacement components for their brackets that in the event of crashes would allow us to change just one side, or one "ear" if need be instea d of the whole bracket. It saved us time making repairs and it saved us money cause we were'nt always having to buy the entire bracket when one suffered only
minor damage.

Steering dampers we used were Ohlins. Simply the best out there.
Chains were off-the-shelf EK 520 chains and we used PBI sprockets.

Motion Pro hooked us up with virtually indestructable, long life clutch cables and throttle cables, as well as the majority of the tools that the crew used.

Rearsets and foot controls on Jimmy's bikes were manufactured by TCM products (the same guys who lightened our rear brake rotors). Majorly durable components and simple no non-sense design. We also used PPTuning rearsets which we purchased from Fred Renz at Yoyodyne. Fully adjustable levers and lightweight trick units. PPTuning clip ons were also used.

Our painting was done in-house by our staff painter Jason Stowe and we used Sharkskinz bodywork and fasteners. We used standard height Zero Gravity windscreens because the optical clarity of Zero Gravity screens is unmatched.

All decals were purchased through Bellco Inc...a local company in Alabama who specializes in specialy sign work for motorcyle racing teams. Chris Bell is our contact....a real stand up guy. Reliable, reasonably priced, and enthusiastic about anything involving racing and motorcycles.

To protect the bikes and bodywork when they hit the ground we used frame savers manufactured by PPTuning which were also purchased from Yoyodyne. The frame savers are unigue in the fact that they have replaceble thread on plastic mushroomed ends which obviuosly means you only replace the damaged plastic portion if the bike goes down as opposed to the entire frame saver. Again, it saved us critical time and also money when our bikes would go
down.

All crew communication equipment (radios and headsets) were built by an english company, Autocom, which is distributed here in the U.S. by Top Gear Accessories in New York. Awesome quality and an essential component when relaying and recording rider data from different segments of the track as well as signaling info.
