The 2006 YZF-R1 features a combination of MotoGP-inspired engine and chassis upgrades that keep it way ahead of the competition, including Deltabox frame, tuned for optimum lateral and torsional rigidity, and a longer swingarm, for extra traction.

And the 20-valve engine features EXUP exhaust control for excellent midrange and improved intake/exhaust efficiency for its biggest-ever performance – in stck form a breathtaking 175 horsepower at 12,500rpm! The R1 is also available in a limited edition racing heritage yellow / black colour scheme.

2. Optional parts for engine
These parts are utilities for further improving engine performance.
a) Maintenance set (Modified)
This set includes the kit head-gaskets, (t =0.30mm), anti stick cover gaskets and standard base gasket, oil-seal and other parts for engine maintenance.
With this material you are able to rebuild three engines.
b) Valve seat cutter set
Maintenance tool to adjust the valve seat hit width.
c) Cylinder-head gasket
Gasket thickness has been changed to create higher compression ratio.
5VY-11181-80: t =0.35 mm?(Standard : t =0.40 mm)
(5VY-11181-70: t =0.30 mm, This is included in the Basic kit.)
d) Cylinder base gasket
This part will use to adjust the squish height.
5VY-11351-70 : t =0.10 mm
5VY-11351-80 : t =0.15 mm
(Standard : t =0.20 mm)
e) Valve set
This is flat surface type. Weight is the same as standard valve. Made off Steel.
f) Camshaft, intake and exhaust (Modified)
The working angle has been widened. Lift is not changed. (Lift is standard spec.)
Cam-profile is changed.
Use this camshaft together with STD valve spring.
g) Fuel pressure regulator (New)
This part keeps about 1.5 times more pressure compared with the standard part.
h) Piston set (New)
This piston has a higher compression ratio and a lower friction compared with the standard
piston.
i) Exhaust set (New)
This set is made by AKRAPOVIC?
j) Big radiator set
This radiator set is made by MB MOTORSPORTS.
One complete radiator, pipes and hoses are included in this kit.
k) Sub-radiator set
This sub-radiator is attached to the standard radiator. The heat radiation surface area is expended.
l) STM slipper clutch set
This set is made by STM.
This clutch stops the rear wheel slipping during hard braking.
In order to assemble the clutch kit you must use the kit or standard friction plates and clutch plates.
m) Tool for STM slipper clutch
This special tool to install the STM slipper clutch. If this tool is used, it becomes easy to assemble.
n) Clutch boss (Modified)
This part has more oil pass holes than the standard one and is coated to improve durability and operability.
o) Mission set (New)
This set includes all the gears and axles. The gear ratios and specifications are changed from the standard gearbox.
There is no interchangeability of the kit gears and the standard gears.
Do not mix the gear types. (kit gears <-> std gears).

p) Drive sprocket
This is lightweight specification. There are 3 kinds of sprockets (15, 16 and 17T) for size 520 chains.
q) Sprocket nut
For drive sprocket of kit.
r) Shift Switch Set
This Shift Switch will make it possible to shift up without throttle operation, only working together with the kit ECU and kit wire harness.
? This switch is installed instead of the original shift rod and it has an adjustable system in the rod assembly. (Max 346mm, Min 305mm)
s) Head-light harness set (Modified)
This set is been made for endurance racing.
It has the circuit in two systems. And it has an independent switch to light the tail-light in case of emergency.
Use this set together with the kit wire-harness.
t) Spare engine assembly (New)
This is a complete 2005 standard engine with throttle body and standard ECU.

r) 2D data logging set (New)
This set is made by 2D. In addition to the basic set (STEP 1) four additional system-steps can be
chosen.
This set can easy connected by just connecting coupler into 2005 Kit wire harness
STEP1 : 2D data logging basic set
This set is composed with Main unit, Soft ware, Mini dash, Speed sensor and Receiver
Lap time available through optional Transmitter unit.
STEP2 : A/F Sensor set
This set is composed with A/F unit and A/F sensor
STEP3 : Memory unit set
Increase memory and direct access into PC through USB port
STEP4 : Suspension and Brake sensor set
This set is composed with two type stroke sensors for front and rear suspension and brake
pressure sensor
STEP5 :GPS sensor set
Track map and banking angle will be available through GPS system.


3. Optional parts for chassis
These chassis parts are used to complete the machine for the racing purposes.
a) Chassis Protector Set
This set reduce the damage when you crashed.
b) Oil Catch Tank Set
Catch Tank made of aluminum.
c) Rear Height Adjustor Set
This set can be used with 2004 R1 and 2003 2004 and 2005 R6.
Adjustment range is +7.5mm (from standard upper bracket height) to +17.5mm.
(Seat height is about +15mm to +45mm)
d) Front Fork Spring Set
This spring has a spring rate that is higher than the standard.
The set has two springs and two spacers.
Standard rate: 0.90 kgf/mm -> ? 5VY-C3141-70 : 0.95 kgf/mm, Free length : 255mm
Free length : 235mm ? 5VY-C3141-80 : 1 .00 kgf/mm, Free length : 255mm
e) Titanium rear shock spring (New)
This is titanium made spring for STD rear suspension.
This part has lightened 40 per cent than standard parts.
Spring ratio
Standard rate: 8.5 kgf/mm (83.4 N/mm) -> Kit : 9.0 kgf/mm (88.2 N/mm)
f) Rear shock spring
This is a spring for the standard rear shock.
Spring ratio
Standard rate: 8.5 kgf/mm (83.4 N/mm) -> Kit : 9.0 kgf/mm (88.2 N/mm)
g) Throttle set (Modified)
This set reduces the operation angle to the standard part, and improves maintenance.
Grip assembly, grip cap and special throttle wires are included.
The external form from the caps is 2mm smaller than the 2004 kit.
h) Front stay set
Stay assembly to fit the front cowl and meter assembly. std headlight can be installed to this set.
i) Front spare wheel assembly (New)
This standard R1 wheel assembly is complete with the bearings included and mounted. The disks are not included.
j) Rear spare wheel assembly (New)
This standard R1 wheel assembly is complete with the bearings and sprocket carrier included. The disk and sprockets are not included.
k) Rear arm set for sprint race (New)
Special rear-arm for sprint race usage.
This set does not include the parts to fit your wheel inside the rear-arm (due to many different wheel suppliers)
l) Rear arm set for endurance race (New)
Special rear-arm made for endurance racing the left side is exactly similar as the sprint rear-arm, the right side is 20mm wider as the sprint rear-arm. Also the shaft diameter is bigger from this endurance rear-arm.
This set does not include the parts to fit your wheel inside the rear-arm (due to many different wheel suppliers).
m) 24L fuel tank set (New)
This tank has 24 liter capacity and a two filler base.
n) Rear sprocket
These sprockets are prepared for a standard wheel with 520 size chain.
Teeth number is from 41T to 47T.

1. Basic kit set (Modified)
This kit set is made to improve the engine performance for the racing purpose.
This set is prepared within the FIM superbike Regulations.
a) Spark plug set
This is a set of spark plugs R0045Q-10 of NGK. The set has four plugs.
b) Cylinder-head gasket
This gasket is made to adjust the squish height.
5VY-11181-70: t =0.30 mm (Standard : t =0.40 mm)
c) Camshaft, intake and exhaust (Modified)
Working angle and lift have been changed to improve output.
Cam-profile is changed.
Use this camshaft together with kit valve spring set.
d) Valve spring set
Use this set together with high lift camshaft.
e) Air funnel set
This set has a base plate and two specifications of bell mouth.
f) AIS plug set
These plugs need to be mounted when the AIS (Air Induction System) is removed.
g) Clutch spring set (Modified)
This set contains stronger springs with a spring load that has been increased from the standard springs. And included a push lever complete that reduces the load of the clutch lever.
h) Rotor assembly
This is a lightweight rotor. Picking up and the output are improved.
i) Wire-harness set (Modified)
Designed for sprint races, the weight of this wiring harness has been reduced by eliminating the unnecessary circuits. The connector for data logging is included.
j) Engine control unit (ECU) (Modified)
This part is made to create optimal ignition characteristic for race usage.
The numerical value is changed to match to the modified high lift camshafts.
Use this ECU together with the kit wire harness. The fuel injection can be adjusted in nine areas with the standard meter assembly.

k) 2005 kit manual
The 2005 Kit manual will be printed in English and will have inside a CD-R with the following five languages:

520 Chain / Sprocket Kit

Optional sprockets might be wanted to regear the R1. Chain and gearing kits are avaiilable from MotoWheels which carries the race quality AFAM sprockets. These are higher quality hardened and anodized sprockets which we recommend.

Other companies like Sporcket Specialites offer lower quality unhardened sprockets which we really don't recommed for their reduced strength and wear, particular if your are changing to a narrow 520 sprocket setup to reduce weight.

. We opted for a narrower 520 from stock 525 chain and sprocket kit which reduced weight 1.5 pounds.
