We liked Craig Ramey's ZRX so much we photographed it for the 2004 Fast Dates Calendar with beautiful Ashley Esqueda

Kawasaki ZRX1100 Superbike
Craig and Tommy Ramey build the ultimate street legal ZRX Superbike

The ZRX1100 is an incredible looking bike, an affordable replica based on Eddie Lawson's 1982 National Championship winning KZ1000 Superbike. But Craig Ramey wanted his ZRX to perform and handle even better than it looked, and the result of Craig's extensive $25,000 rebuild project is the world's ultimate street legal ZRX. A bike that accelerates, stops, and handles like a modern day factory Superbike. Had this bike been around back in 1982, Eddie's underpowered flexi-flyer of the day wouldn't have stood a chance!

Would you believe this baby is running a full-race 180 HP engine fed by Keihin FCR41 Flatslide carburetors that is docile enough to be Craig's every day ride, yet a brutal torque monster that no current production sportbike can stay with in a straight line up to 150 mph, afterwhich aerodynamics take over for this green brick.

The bike bristles with many trick factory ZXR7RR parts from Doug Chandler's National Championship winnning Muzzy Kawasaki Superbike which Craig was lucky enough to sweek talk Rob Muzzy out of (for a price!). Cool race parts like the slipper clutch needed to keep the high compression motor from locking up the rear wheel under braking, the huge oversize radiator and oil cooler to keep this monster cool, and the full works Ohlins front forks. Other goodies include a Tsukigi braced rear alloy swingarm held up by externally adjustable twin Ohlins Piggyback Shocks (the best available shocks for the ZRX.

If you want the ultimate ZRX for yourself and money isn't a problem, just drop Craig Ramey an E-Mail at Pirate Motorsports.
