It only took the new Corvette C8 some 70 years to finally get the rear engine supercar design it had always wanted.
The ultimate track version is this Z06 which features an Aluminum Chassis and full coil-over shock and spring suspension with
electronic damping control, powered by a completely new LT6 5.5-liter V8 engine with dual overhead camshafts, a flat crankshaft,
active valve intake system, dry sump lubrication, forged Titanium rods and stainless steel headers. The engine produces 670hp
at 8,400 rpm making it the most powerful normally aspirated production engine in the world. The only drawback is the stock C8
Z06 Corvette design is both overly large and somewhat heavy at 3,650 lbs.
This is my personal 2024 C8 Z06 which features the optional Z07 package which includes much lighter Brembo
carbon ceramic brakes, carbon aero on the bodywork featuring a high downforce rear wing, and the optional carbon fiber
wheels. I’ve also added a Lithium battery which saves another 25 lbs, and a tuned high-flow carbon fiber Eventuri Airbox which
saves some 15 lbs and adds 20-40 more horsepower and torque throughout the power band. Weight is now down to a more
acceptable 3,500 lbs, with an even stronger 700 hp engine. The super sticky Michelin Cup 2R tires makes this the ultimate track
toy capable of pulling up to 2 Gs in the corners! - Jim Gianatsis
