One of my favorite models to shoot with on Day 2 of the Workshop was supermodel Alexia Rae Castillo. On the page
at left, Alexia stretches out on the tables inside Club James, with downtown Santa Monica and the Pacific Ocean in the background.
On this page, Josh Ryan demonstrates for the Workshop, shooting with Alexia in the Goldstrin Residence’s living room
which offers so many unique angles and props to work with. Here Josh has two photo assistants. One assistant you might call
a gaffer, holds a White card to reflect daylight onto the model if Josh asks for it, to lighten up her shadow areas. The other
assistant is the IT or digital assistant running the monitor and photo software that is tethered to Josh’s camera. He can watch
the monitor and actually adjust the settings on Josh’s camera to gt the best exposure and depth of field. The monitor allows
Josh, the Workshop students, any Client and makeup artist to make adjustments to the model and lighting.
