Thunder Road Zero Peter Lewis’ Springer Hardtail Custom

This year’s 2024 Iron & Lace Calendar cover bike is a Zero Engineering style lowboy springer hardtail custom which was built from the ground-up by Max Hushahn and his crew at Thunder Road Classic Motorcycles in West Hollywood, California. I hadn’t seen the bike before our Saturday afternoon shoot at Thunder Road, but Max said he would find me something very special, and he wasn’t lying! Owner Peter Lewis road the bike to the shoot and when he pulled into the shop’s back parking lot on this beautiful machine, my jaw just dropped.
You’ll certainly agree this is one of the most beautiful retro customs I’d ever. Perfectly balanced, nothing over done or out of place, all the best components including an Evo crate engine fueled by a Mikuni HS42 Carburetor. My thanks to owner Peter Lewis for bringing it and allowing us to make his bike into a well-deserved cover girl.
