In walking around Taormina I came across tan old historic excavation of an ancient Greek theater named Odeon built around 200 BC, next to a temple from 300 BC. It is amazing that different groups of people lived in Taormina over the ages, with each group building over the sites of previous generations. You can see how more current homes were built over the ruins of the old church and theater.
