Cover Story

Roger Goldammer's World Biker Build Off Championship winning retro Board TracK racer abounds with inovative details. The solid looking frear frame section is actually a real working swingam, pivoting on a hidden mount under the engine and compressing at the top into the top frame tube and the gas tank where there is a hidden coil-over shock assembly, The first ever 23 inch wheels were also a Goldammer inovation and had to be hand built, as did the bolt-on rim mount brake rotors front and rear.

Taylor McKegney our cover model first began shooting with photographer Jm Gianatsis back in 1998 when she was also featured in Perfect 10 magazine. She returned this year after a brief 3 year retirement from modeling to get married, have a baby, get divorced and then return to modeling again.

Notes of interest on Taylor's riding gear. The perfectly matched high heeled lace-up running sneakers were found by Jim in South Beach, Miami during a vacation trip. The black latex shorts and bikini top came from Mr J's bikini shop on Hollywood Boulevard in Hollywood, CA. The ensemble is complete with EMGO's classic aviator goggles.

Iron & Lace 2006
The 2006 edition of the Iron & Lace Calendar again featured an incredible collection collection of top custom bikes and models. On the cover we featured Roger Goldammer's awesome 1920's Board Track Racer retro bike which won the 2004 Word Championship of Bike Builders held at Custom Chrom in Morgan hill, CA, and earned Roger $50,000 cash for 1st place prize. The model with the Board Tracker is beautiful brunette Taylor McKegney who has been featured in the FastDates.com Calendar since 1999.

This 2006 calendar photo of Zero Engineering's Best of Show winner at the 2004 LA Calendar Motorcycle Show was also featured in the advertising print campain for the 2005 LA Calendar Motorcycle Show. Our Calendar Angel in the sexy sailor outfit is "Rockin' Robin" Cunningham, former miss texas, Miss Harley-Davidson and Miss Hawaiian Tropic international.

Our 2004 Los Angeles Calendar Motorcycle Show saw Zero Engineering of Japan's founder Katsuho Kumagi claimed Best of Show with his Pan Head hot rod "bike "Masamune."Katsuho came all the way from his home base to attend the Show. He is world famous for his trend setting retro street rods have a 4 year customer waiting list.

For the 3rd year in a row American builder Jesse Rooke almost repeated his 2002 and 2004 Best of Show victories with his latest creation, the energy drink sponsored Rock Star Kruiser. Jesse still won Best Pro Builder for Rock Star Kruiser's origionality and clean design, a Jesse Rooke trademark that puts Jesse in a class of his own among the world's top builders. But the judges ended up giving Best of Show to Zero Engineering to spotlight Katsyho's own unique retro style which he pioneered and which so many other builders are now emulating. The Best of Show choice was made to reward Katsyho's individual uniqueness and creativity, which is just as important, if not more so, than the beautiful but boring "me too" choppers which most pro builders churn out by the dozens.

Other top builders featured in the 2006 Iron & Lace Calendar are Paul Yaffe, Roland Sands of Performance Machine, Don Chica of Chica Custom Cycles, Russel Mitchell of Exile Cycles, and Dreamcraft Studio's Larry Nagel and Art Center grad Paul Young with the extradorinary "Sega" bike. Along with covergirl favorite Taylor McKegney, this year's beautiful models included Paige Anderson, the return of 2004 Iron & Lace cover model and Miss Great Britain Nicki Lane, Laura Niles, Penthouse Pet of the Year Zdenka, Miss Texas / Miss Harley-Davidson / Miss Hawaiian Tropic International Robin Cunningham, 2004 LA Calendar Bike Show Model Search winner jenny Galitello, Tanea Brooks from our Calendar Bike Show's all-girl performance group ThePurrfect Angelz, and another long favorite Calendar Angel of ours Chandi Mason.
